Greetings Nobles and Ladies!
I would like first to thank you for the honor of serving as your Potentate for what so far has been the fastest six months of my life. So much has happened, and it doesn’t look to slow down any for the rest of the year.
So many things have already passed, such as the Crawfish Boil, the Putt Putt Tournament. Blue Wahoo’s 50-50 sales and paper sales at Joe Patti’s to raise money for the Transportation Fund which is used to transport our Shrine Kids to doctors’ appointments and treatments. We attended Hamasa’s Potentates Ball with Past Potentate Bobby Minchew and Lady Ella. We also had 22 of us that flew to Reno, Nv. For the Imperial Session.
As you can see, it has been a very busy year so far. It doesn’t let up in the near future either. Our Imperial Visit was scheduled to occur the weekend after we returned from the Imperial Session. Unfortunately, Imperial Sir Richard Burke and his First Lady got sick, her with Covid and he with other issues. Their visit has been postponed until August 15th through the 18th. More information will be forthcoming from Chief Rabban Rondel King, if it hasn’t already by the time of this issue. Also coming up soon is the Southeastern Shrine Association meeting in August, along with the Hog Roast on the 17th and three Potentate Balls from neighboring Shrine Temples. Abba of Mobile, Alcazar of Montgomery and Bahia in Apopka.
Things are going well here at Hadji also. The building continues to be rented out almost every weekend and the grounds are looking terrific. We have had a moderate amount of attendance to the Stated Sessions, and I would like to challenge each of the Units to attend with as many members as possible. It is gratifying to see members from the many Units here at Hadji. Where else can you get a meal for a donation and a chance to visit with our brother nobles? Please make an effort to attend.
I would be remiss if I didn’t encourage each and every one of you to attend your Lodge meeting as often as possible. The Masonic Association meets on the second Wednesday of each month at different Lodge’s in the Districts. Please make time to attend as our members must come from the Lodges as you all know.
